The third installment of our 2018 NFL Mock Draft series is here and this one has the KC Chiefs adding a quarterback to their depth chart.
The NFL offseason is slowly turning day by day, but hopefully our 2018 NFL Mock Draft series can help pass the time a bit. Each edition focuses on a different theme and this one revolves around the Kansas City Chiefs locking up a quarterback to either back up or be a third stringer to Patrick Mahomes.
After trading Alex Smith to the Redskins, the Chiefs only have Mahomes listed under the quarterbacks section of the roster right now. Even though he’s the franchise guy now, the Chiefs still need to be looking at other signal callers in case of an injury or something else that could sideline Mahomes (knock on wood).
I used Fanspeak’s “On the Clock” simulator to put this draft together and it’s a lot of fun for those of you who like mock drafts. Obviously it has its faults, but who/what doesn’t? Even I have faults… I know, shocking, right? I also got to pick which draft board I wanted to use and I went with Fanspeak’s since theirs was the most recently updated.
Anyway, enough chit chat, let’s dive into the third installment of our 2018 NFL Mock Draft series! This is the first mock draft I’ve done since the Alex Smith trade, so the extra third round pick is now included with the other selections.
Let’s take a look and see who the Chiefs will select!
