The Kansas City Chiefs may have a decent bit of money this offseason. Would it be possible for them to bring back some players they couldn’t re-sign before?

It seems like a pretty safe bet that the Kansas City Chiefs will be active this offseason. There are a number of likely moves that will open up quite a bit of cap space. On top of that, Andy Reid and Clark Hunt have both said there were some personnel issues to solve. That’s a perfect storm for adding talent, and some of the players they target may be well-known to Chiefs fans.

Over the past few years, Kansas City has had to make some difficult choices regarding free agent talent. Chiefs fans have seen a number of quality players leave the organization to sign big deals with other teams. With the potential salary cap and roster situations in KC this year, some of those players might just return.

Andy Reid is known as a player’s coach who has very strong relationships with the men that play for him. That’s not something to overlook at any point when talking about potential free agent signings. Players like being on Andy Reid teams. Of course, the money will still have to be right, but it’s not crazy to think former Chiefs might want to come back.

This year’s free agency period could end up featuring quite a few former Kansas City players too. For a number of reasons it appears that some former Chiefs are going to be hitting the market. Several of them could fill some outstanding needs for KC too. So which players might make a return to the Red n’ Gold?

Here are five that make the most sense…
