The Missouri Tigers have a rabid fan base who sticks with the program through thick and thin. That’s saying something too, as this is a program that has been dealt some terrible blows over the years.

While things have gotten better for the Missouri Tigers recently, this is a school that has had some truly heartbreaking moments in their history. It’s not just in football either, as the basketball program has had its fair share of crushing moments.

This list is not for the faint of heart, MU fans. From one of the most embarrassing moments in the NCAA Tournament to a freak play in football that should never have worked, Mizzou fans have seen just about all there is to see, and it always seems to go against the black and gold.

So, what will appear on this list? Let’s get it started.

WORST MOMENTS FOR MU FANS – HONORABLE MENTION: LOSING TO A PUNTER

DECEMBER 27, 2017 VS TEXAS

Okay, so I’m including this one as an honorable mention because it’s more embarrassing than it is painful. This is just such a typical “Mizzou” moment that I couldn’t help but include it.

The backstory is simple. The Missouri Tigers finished an impressive 2017 campaign by rattling off six straight wins to battle back from a 1-5 start on the year. They were rewarded with a trip to the Texas Bowl, where they’d be up against the Texas Longhorns.

It seemed like a game where Mizzou had the edge, especially with several Texas players sitting out due to declaring for the NFL Draft. Missouri responded with an absolute horrendous outing and would go on to lose the game by a score of 33-16.

Not only did the Tigers lose, which really wouldn’t have been all that bad, the MVP of the Texas Bowl was the freaking punter from Texas. That’s right… Michael Dickson, who had dropped ten of his 11 punts in the 20, was named MVP.

It really is the most MU thing possible to not only lose, but have the opposing team’s punter be the reason why you lost. If this entry made you cringe, then you might not want to continue on. We haven’t even gotten to the real list yet!
