2018 NFL Draft: 5 Local Juniors

#2 Byron Pringle – WR – Kansas State

One of the least surprising early declarations for the 2018 NFL Draft was Kansas State Wildcats wide receiver Byron Pringle. The Wildcats top receiver has already graduated, and is now looking to take the next step in his career. He’ll be an interesting player to track in the upcoming draft.

Current Projection: 7th Round – Undrafted

I do think NFLDraftScout.com is being a bit unfair to Byron Pringle, but I also understand why. The truth is that Pringle simply doesn’t have the numbers to be considered a higher pick. However, that is mostly due to the offensive system at Kansas State that does its wide receivers no favors at all. I think he’d be an absolute steal so late in the draft.

However, Byron Pringle deserves credit for his decision. Not because he’s declaring early, but because he has already graduated. If there was ever a good reason to leave school ahead of time, it’s because you’ve already earned your degree. That shows a good work ethic and level of maturity that some team will like a lot…especially with his playmaking ability.
