#5 Tanner Lee – QB – Nebraska

Probably the most surprising early declaration for the 2018 NFL Draft from local players was Nebraska Cornhuskers quarterback Tanner Lee. There really isn’t anything in Lee’s resume that would suggest he has a shot at getting drafted this year. In fact, some analysts say his best hope is to change positions.

Current Projection: Undrafted

NFLDraftScout.com currently ranks Tanner Lee as their 18th overall quarterback. That isn’t good enough to get any team overly interested in him. Lee does have his athleticism and size working for him, should he decide to make a position shift.

This one was definitely a head scratcher for me though. Tanner Lee will be turning 23 before the draft, so perhaps it was his age that was the motivator here. Especially if he is deciding to change positions. Still, there isn’t anything there that makes me think he will get drafted, so this isn’t a smart decision in my book.

Decision Grade: D
