ROUND 6: PICK 34 (212TH OVERALL) – MICHAEL DICKSON, P (TEXAS)
Okay, so people are probably going to be pissed at me for this selection, but might I remind you this is just a mock draft. Plus, if a team is going to draft a punter in the sixth round, Michael Dickson is about as good as it gets at the position.
Missouri fans in particular will know all about Dickson, as he was named the Most Valuable Player against the Tigers in the Texas Bowl this past December. Dickson deserved the award too, as he downed ten of his 11 punts against MU inside the 20 yard line.
Texas punter Michael Dickson named MVP of Texas Bowl. Dickson is 1st punter named MVP in a bowl since FSU’s Graham Gano in 2008 Champs Sports Bowl

Pinning Mizzou deep prevented their offense from really getting going and that was the difference in the game for sure. It’s rare for a punter to get much love unless they royally screw up, but Dickson is the real deal.
This is the perfect year for Dickson to head pro too, as the Kansas City Chiefs will likely be looking to move on from their long time punter Dustin Colquitt. If you remember, the Chiefs drafted Colquitt in the third round (third!!!!) back in 2005 and he’s been with the team ever since.
There were no punters taken in last year’s draft, but three were selected in 2016 (one in round six and the other two in the seventh round). While Dickson could hear his name called much earlier in the 2018 NFL Draft, if he’s still available in the sixth round like this mock draft predicted, he’d be an easy pick for the Chiefs.
