Kansas City Chiefs: 2017 Rookie Breakdown

Wide Receiver: Jehu Chesson

I would be lying if I said I did not thinkKansas City Chiefs rookie wide receiver Jehu Chesson had an excellent future ahead of him. It just makes sense for him to succeed. When there is a young player hustling on special teams, it shows by that he is a keeper.

Having a young talent thriving on special teams shows character. He isn’t asking for more offensive snaps, and wanting touchdown after touchdown. Jehu Chesson just wants to compete, and help his team win.

Jehu Chesson seemed to always be the first player down the field on kickoff, and a few times this season, it paid off. For example, during the week six match-up against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Chesson recovered a squib kick, to give the Chiefs great field position to get points on the board.

As a rookie, Chesson had 2 receptions for 18 total yards of offense. His very  first NFL reception came in week ten against the Dallas Cowboys, which went for ten yards. His second, and final reception came against the Denver Broncos for eight total yards.

Chesson was selected in the mid-fourth round, and should be a keeper in Kansas City for the years to come. He hustles, he shows heart, and he will be a vital piece to the Chiefs stellar offense.
