5 reasons the Chiefs will be better in 2018

#1 Patrick Mahomes

The world has gotten but a glimpse of what the future looks like for the Chiefs. The future is now. You can’t help but say wow when watching his highlights. Patrick Mahomes has the pure ability to do things no one else can in the league.

Not only can Mahomes throw the ball deeper than anyone else, he can make throws they can’t make either. He may not be a Pro Bowl caliber player in his first full season, but he will scare defenses like no other Chiefs quarterback in history.

For the first time in years the run game should open up. Defenses will not be allowed to focus on the run with Mahomes at quarterback. Good news for Kareem Hunt. Tyreek Hill will have the perfect quarterback throwing him the ball, as he can now use his speed to its fullest advantage.

Mahomes makes those around him better too. Albert Wilson had the game of his career against Denver in Mahomes’ only start. Travis Kelce will still be utilized, even more so now. And the return of Chris Conley, with Demarcus Robinson and Mahomes’ pal Gehrig Dieter emerging should light up scoreboards, nice and bright.

Who knows what the roster will look like next season, but the players we know will be on the roster should be a welcoming sight for Chiefs fans. Patrick Mahomes will be in the ring of honor before he retires. That is how good this kid will be.
