The first half summed up: Wow, the Chiefs are really good again

The offense was rollin’, the defense was hyped, and the Kansas City Chiefs had a groove. The Titans had no answer, as the Chiefs appeared to be the all-around better team. Quarterback Alex Smith was slinging the football, and the play-calling was picture-perfect.

A 14-0 early lead was promising in the first quarter. Fans were jumping up and down, yelling as loud as they can, and enjoyed the momentum the Chiefs hauled in. The Chiefs acted as if they were on top of the world, and nothing could stop them.

In the first half, Smith had 231 total yards, off of 19 of 23 passing. A team could not ask for a better quarterback performance early on. With these staggering stats, the Chiefs went into the locker room at halftime winning 21-3

I felt satisfied, and impressed with the first half performance. My phone was blowing up with friends and family texting me about how good the Chiefs look.

“The Chiefs look like a Super Bowl caliber team”, “Can you believe how good Alex Smith performed that half?” “No one is going to stop this team”. These are a few texts I received during halftime, and I responded to them all with: “We are setting ourselves up for a deep playoff run.” For those of you reading this article, knowing I sent you that text, I would like to simply apologize for jinxing the game.
