ALL-TIME LEADERS IN PASSING YARDS – NUMBER 8: TOMMIE FRAZIER (3,521)

Nebraska Quarterback from 1992-1995

Tommie Frazier was quite the star during his days at Nebraska and he was one of the most exciting players to watch in college football during the 1990s. Frazier threw for 3,521 yards and 43 touchdowns in four seasons as a Husker and finished second in Heisman Trophy voting in 1995.

Frazier’s running ability was a big part of what made him dangerous, rushing for 1,955 yards and 36 touchdowns in his career. He certainly is a quarterback that even non-Nebraska fans remember.

[Frazier] certainly is a quarterback that even non-Nebraska fans remember.

During Frazier’s four year tenure at Nebraska, the Cornhuskers played in New Year’s bowl games every year including victories in the Orange Bowl and Fiesta Bowl. While Frazier didn’t finish out the 1994 season due to a blood clot in his leg, he helped get the Huskers to an undefeated start.

Nebraska would finish that 1994 season at a perfect 13-0 and win the National Championship. Frazier would return with a vengeance in 1995 and led the Huskers to another undefeated season and another championship. During that 1995 season, Frazier threw for 1,362 yards, 17 touchdowns, and rushed for 604 yards and 14 scores.

Frazier lost just four games during his time in Lincoln and had his jersey retired in 1996. He’ll go down as one of the best quarterbacks to ever take snaps at Nebraska.
