Nebraska Football: All-Time Leaders in Passing Yards
ALL-TIME LEADERS IN PASSING YARDS – NUMBER 12: JAMMAL LORD (2,848)
Nebraska Quarterback from 2000-2003
One of the finest dual-threat quarterbacks to roll through Lincoln was Jammal Lord, who was a talented player for the Huskers in the early 2000s. Lord fit the mold perfectly for what Nebraska looked for at the quarterback position and he did it beautifully.
Through his four years at Nebraska, Lord threw for 2,848 yards and over 1,300 yards in both his junior and senior seasons. While those don’t sound like awesome totals and Lord was sometimes questioned on his passing abilities, that was the norm for Nebraska quarterbacks back in the day. They were definitely a “run first” type of team at the quarterback spot.
Where Lord was really dangerous was running with the football.
Where Lord was really dangerous was running with the football. During that impressive junior campaign in 2002, Lord took off 251 times and calculated 1,412 yards with eight rushing touchdowns. His senior season saw him rush for 948 and ten touchdowns.
The Huskers were an average team in 2002 despite Lord’s efforts, but they were a top ranked squad in his senior season, going 10-3 on the season and winning the Alamo Bowl.
While his passing stats weren’t as impressive as his rushing stats, Jammal Lord still makes the list at number 12 all-time.
