The narrative for the Kansas City Chiefs during the playoffs is a negative one, perhaps the lack of success is due to this negativity.

A person very close and dear to my heart brought up a far-fetched but decent point to me over the holidays. The Kansas City Chiefs do not win in the playoffs because of the millions of fans that don’t believe in them. To a degree they have a point. Year after year it’s far too common to hear fans say something like “yeah they’re good in the regular season but can’t win in the playoffs” or “but they can’t beat the Steelers or Patriots in the playoffs“.

Those fans are right. In the storied history of the Chiefs, there just aren’t that many stories of playoff victories. The other side could be right as well. The Chiefs don’t win because they aren’t supposed to.

It isn’t like the Chiefs haven’t come close. The last two playoff exits were done in brutal fashion as Kansas City had a chance to win or send those games into overtime. Alex Smith played well in both of those games by the way.

So here I am, putting myself out there to be ridiculed and called every name in the book of names as  i step out on that ledge. The Kansas City Chiefs can make it to the Super Bowl, in fact, they will. Here are the five exact reasons why.
