Kansas City Chiefs: Coaching Carousel Opportunities

New York Giants

What a mess. If the Kansas City Chiefs are about to lose an assistant, let’s hope for their sake it isn’t to the New York Giants. This organization is completely broken right now thanks to the previous head coach. There is no clear direction for which way the Giants are going, and that’s even more troubling.

As far as assets go, you shouldn’t count on anything. The Giants have hired Dave Gettleman to come in and fix things. He won’t hesitate to get rid of anyone on that roster. Speaking of that roster, there is absolutely no leadership there to work with. A new head coach is starting from scratch.

Matt Nagy: I hate this match completely, but if the Giants draft a new quarterback then Matt Nagy could be the option. Dave Gettleman has hired an Andy Reid assistant before and had success. However, without any team leadership on the roster, I don’t know that he would go with someone so young.

Dave Toub: Bringing in an experienced coach with a history of being tough on discipline makes plenty of sense for the Giants. If that is the case, then Dave Toub easily fits the bill. Toub should be able to walk into the locker room on day one and lay down the law. He also wouldn’t likely have a problem with Dave Gettleman making some big cuts.
