DEMETRIUS HARRIS – HOLD ONTO THE BALL
For Chiefs fans, any time the football is thrown to Demetrius Harris, we’re all a little anxious. While Harris has had some memorable catches (the two-point conversion in Denver last year and the Bloated Tebow pass, also against Denver), he’s mostly known for his high drop rate.
Harris was yet another one of Andy Reid’s “basketball player converted to football player” projects at the tight end spot. He’s shown flashes of potential, but he definitely needs to make his resolution in 2018 be to hold onto the damn football.
Smith has shown a liking to throwing to Harris in some pretty clutch situations, which is fine, but Harris’ reputation as a dropper makes fans nervous. If he can invest in some “Stick ‘Em”, that’d be a great idea for Demetrius Harris moving forward.
Mahomes appeared to have some chemistry with Harris on Sunday, three catches for 73 yards from the rookie quarterback. Maybe these two will end up being on the same page and we’ll see less drops for Harris moving forward. That’d sure be nice.
