We’re now in the year 2018 and like many other people, the Kansas City Chiefs will likely make their resolutions for the new year.
The New Year means it’s time for everyone to start anew. A lot of people make resolutions to improve their lives in hopes of changing for the better. Members of the Kansas City Chiefs probably make their own resolutions each year and we’re going to dive into some of them right now.
Let’s jump right in and see what 2018 has in store for our favorite Chiefs!
ANDY REID – CONTINE TO LET MATT NAGY CALL THE PLAYS
The Kansas City Chiefs hit a huge roadblock in the middle of the season and a lot could be blamed on the poor play calling. Andy Reid was getting way too cute with the offense and it led to some really bad games.
The biggest “WTF” game offensively was definitely against the Giants, where the offense couldn’t get anything going against one of the worst teams in the league. The worst play in that one was where Reid decided to have Travis Kelce throw the football when the Chiefs were in a critical third down situation. Kelce ended up getting picked off and the Chiefs would eventually lose that game in overtime.
After the horrid outing against Buffalo (the week after losing to New York), Andy Reid gave up his offensive play calling duties and gave the keys to Matt Nagy. Since Nagy took over, the Chiefs have scored at least 26 points in every game. He’s the gift that keeps on giving.
Andy Reid’s resolution needs to be to continue letting Nagy be the man behind the plays. The biggest hope here is that Nagy doesn’t get snagged by another team needing a new head coach in 2018. If so, then we might be back to seeing Kelce throw passes on third down. Please no.
