5 reasons the Jayhawks won’t win 14 straight

#1 Pressure

Can you imagine the pressure that is weighing down on the Jayhawks this season. Every player that has come before them during this streak, their families and friends, fans, media, trolls on the internet and the ghost of Phog Allen looking down on these kids.

Everything that Kansas Basketball has accomplished during this streak doesn’t compare to what this squad is expected to do. Guys like Devonte’ Graham and Svi and Vick have all been a vital part of the continuance of this streak. Everything comes down to this season and what these kids can accomplish.

The National Championship comes second this season. All will be forgiven if the Jayhawks can stand alone as the team with the most conference titles in a row.

This streak will no doubt end eventually. All things come to an end. The difference between the streak ending next season rather than this one is astronomical. If the streak ends next season, the narrative will simply be it is time to start a new one. If it ends this season, this team will go down in infamy as the team that ended the streak. The team not to be named. Guys like Billy Preston will not be welcome in Lawrence.
