5 reasons the Jayhawks won’t win 14 straight

#2 Stiff competition

The Texas Longhorns are the worst team in the Big 12 at 9-3. That means every other team in the conference has two losses or less. TCU has yet to be beat.

So how good are these teams compared to the records they have?

Let’s start with TCU. They haven’t played a single top 25 team yet. Their next three games are against ranked teams, including Kansas. Come back to me in four games. Still, TCU is a respectable basketball program now.

Oklahoma lost by nine to Arkansas early in the season. Their premier win so far was against that other team in Kansas, Wichita State. Baylor is 1-2 against top 25 teams, with losses to that other Kansas team and Xavier. Their win came against Creighton.

West Virginia got destroyed by Texas A&M their first game of the season, but redeemed themselves with a win against top 10 Virginia. Texas Tech lost their only game against a top 25 team against Seton Hall.

Kansas State lost by two to now number two ranked Arizona State, a team that handled the Jayhawks with ease. Their bad loss is their other loss against Tulsa. Oklahoma State couldn’t compete with that other Kansas team and Texas A&M, but won by a single point to Florida State. Iowa State lost their first two games against Missouri and Milwaukee but they haven’t lost since. The Cyclones always give Kansas fits. Texas lost to Duke, Gonzaga and Michigan but were in every one of those games.
