5 reasons the Jayhawks won’t win 14 straight

#3 Trae Young and company

Buddy Hield who? Norman has a star at point guard. That star chose to stay home rather than come to Kansas and it quite frankly was the right choice. He leads the NCAA in scoring and nobody has come close to stopping him.

Yes, he is only one guy on one team. His talent alone could be the difference between #14 for Kansas. If Oklahoma continues to win behind Young, there is a very good chance Kansas won’t be able to win both games. The Jayhawks could be underdogs when they go to Norman as well.

Baylor has two kids on their squad in Manu Lecomte and Lual Acuil Jr. Lecomte is second in the Big 12 in scoring and Acuil Jr. leads the league in rebounding. Jevon Carter is third in scoring and leads the league in steals for West Virginia. Mohamed Bamba of Texas leads the league in blocks by an outstanding four per game, almost two more blocks than second place.

Trae Young also leads the league in assists and three-point field goals made. Leading the Big 12 in assists and the NCAA in points is no joking matter. He’s a freshman for goodness sake.

Kansas Basketball does have players in the mix across the board, including four in the top ten in scoring. This is the most talented group of Big 12 teams in quite some time, with Texas being the worst team in the conference at 9-3.
