#2 Tanoh Kpassagnon – EDGE

There is no denying that the Kansas City Chiefs pass rush has been a disappointment this year. Tamba Hali‘s age has caught up to him, Dee Ford is a disappointment, and Frank Zombo just isn’t meant to be a starter. That’s allowed opponents to focus on Justin Houston. The Chiefs need Tanoh Kpassagnon to show he can be a force.

Kansas City’s defense relies a lot on the pass rush disrupting the quarterback. A good pass rush is one that can attack from multiple angles. That means both inside and outside, and from both sides of the field. The more a quarterback has to account for, the less comfortable he’s going to be.

Right now the Chiefs don’t have anyone getting after the passer from their right side. For most quarterbacks, that is their “blind side”. If Tanoh Kpassagnon can show that he can start making opposing quarterback’s uncomfortable on that side, it will be a huge tool for Bob Sutton’s defense. It’s the kind of thing that can make the whole defense better.
