Wish # 6 – A Dominating 2018 Draft Class
In 2018, general manager Brett Veach finds himself in position to be in charge of the draft room, for the first time. From the roster’s standpoint, it has some holes.
The most obvious need is the cornerback position. Veach must address the needs for the team, with a mindset of selections to help the team win now.
In the 2017 draft, the Chiefs drafted primarily for the future. Their first two draft picks were projects in Mahomes, and Tanoh Kpassagnon. For Veach, he needs to find prospects who will be able to play right away with no need to take a season off to develop.
Veach must address the needs for the team, with a mindset of selections to help the team win now.
If Veach chooses to draft for the present form of the team, the Chiefs easily set themselves for the future, once again.
In Veach we trust is a term that comes to mind as the offseason approaches. In the offseason, Veach has the chance to show why Clark Hunt chose him as the next general manager.
