Kansas City Chiefs: A timeline of Albert Wilson’s increasing contributions
By Kyle Hull
2016 – Mr. Glue Guy
“Glue guy”, also known as “Mr. Do the Little Things No One Else Wants To Do”. Yep, that is Albert Wilson. The undrafted free agent found himself back for a third season, and all of a sudden, the Chiefs demand above-average performances from him.
In 2016, Wilson carved a name for himself within the Chiefs organization, once again. He was a much-needed contributor. Wilson needed to make blocks, Wilson needed to start, and Wilson needed to be great.
With all due respect, Wilson did just that because of one simple fact – Wilson is a one-of-a-kind steal for the Kansas City Chiefs.
His stats in 2016 actually decreased, but he still needed to contribute to the red-hot Kansas City Chiefs offense. Wilson had 279 total yards, and 2 total touchdowns, once again.
Wilson was targeted 51 times, and caught 31 of those passes, creating a 60.8% catch rating for the third year pro.
Perhaps a highlight of a lifetime for Wilson came in the 2016 season, in one of the coolest touchdowns that have ever happened for the Kansas City Chiefs.
His touchdown was a direct-snap on a fake punt, that went for 55 yards in week 13 of the 2016 season. To put it into words, is well, rather, difficult. To save some time, just click on the video below, and take the time to reminisce.
