Kansas City Chiefs: 5 Players To Watch vs Chargers
#3 Kareem Hunt
Last week the Kansas City Chiefs finally got their running game going again. The result of that was a game where the Chiefs finally controlled the clock, especially on a late fourth quarter drive that left the Raiders with little time to respond. It was Kareem Hunt‘s first big game for KC in quite some time. He needs to repeat that this week.
The best way to beat the Chargers is to keep Philip Rivers off the field. The best way to do that is to control the clock with an effective offense that runs the ball. That means the Chiefs need Kareem Hunt to pick up where he left off last week and carry the load. A big game this week would be huge for helping KC win.
Kareem Hunt has already gone over 1000 rushing yards on the season for KC. He’s the first Chiefs rookie to do that since Joe Delaney in 1981. Hunt has already had some success against the Chargers this year, rushing for 172 yards on just 17 carries in their first meeting. The Chargers defense has continued to struggle against the run since then.
A big day by Kareem Hunt could decide this game.
