A-. . . . PASSING DEFENSE

The pass rush finally arrived! Sacks had been hard to come by for the Kansas City Chiefs defense as of late, but they had three sacks on Derek Carr on Sunday. When you consider how good the Raiders offensive line has been in the past few seasons, that’s a huge accomplishment.

Chris Jones had one sack, Jarvis Jenkins had a sack, and Justin Houston sacked Carr. It was a big day for the pass rush, but the secondary showed up big too! That was HUGE, especially with Marcus Peters being suspended by the team for this game.

I thought for sure that the Raiders were going to throw all over the field (like they did in week seven), but the Chiefs secondary did well. Darrelle Revis didn’t look washed up this week and Terrance Mitchell made us all wonder how Kenneth Acker beat him out for a job.

Carr was picked off twice (once by Mitchell and once by Steven Terrell) and seemed perplexed by the Chiefs defense all day long. Hats off to this unit on Sunday, who could have really been exposed without Peters, but instead, rose up to the occasion and looked pretty good.
