SIT ‘EM
The Saints have been pretty good at stopping tight ends from having big games and they should be able to handle Austin Hooper this weekend. Hooper had just three catches for 21 yards last week and hasn’t maintained the success owners thought they’d get from him after his 100+ yard performance in week one.
Last week, New Orleans held Panthers tight end Ed Dickson to just two catches for 18 yards. Now it’s certainly worth noting that Greg Olsen wasn’t playing last week, but Hooper is probably more comparable to Dickson than he is to Olsen production and talent wise.
While not many owners are probably jumping to start Hooper in the first place, this is definitely not a week where you should get cute and play him. He’s got a tough group of safeties in Vonn Bell and Kenny Vaccaro covering him this week and the past production just isn’t enough to merit trusting him as a starting tight end this week.
