Mizzou Basketball: Best head coaches of all-time for Missouri
BEST HEAD COACHES OF ALL-TIME FOR MU – NUMBER 2: QUIN SNYDER
Mizzou Basketball Head Coach from 1999-2006
Quin Snyder is the second best coach in Missouri hoops history, which is impressive considering it was his first head coaching job. He had spent time beforehand as an assistant for the Clippers and for Duke before Missouri hired him in 1999.
Snyder was following a legend at Missouri (more on him in a bit), but he did well for the Tigers, leading the program to the NCAA Tournament in his first four seasons. In 2002, Snyder got MU to the Elite Eight, which is the furthest they’ve ever made it in March.
Snyder finished his time at Mizzou with a record of 126-91 and four NCAA Tournament appearances. He resigned from the program in February 2006 after the Tigers had hit a major slump they couldn’t crawl out of.
Obviously Snyder’s tenure at Missouri didn’t end all that well, as NCAA allegations tarnished the end of his time there. We won’t get into that here though, as this is to celebrate these men and what they did for Missouri.
Quin Snyder was one of the best the Tigers had and he comes in at number two on this list.
