. . . ALEX SMITH. F

Alex Smith is on thin ice for a lot of Chiefs Kingdom. Some have been demanding his benching for years, but others (like myself) have stood up for him (at least most of the time). Smith has been a winner with the Chiefs, but that hasn’t been the case lately. He’s also going against his status quo of “not costing them games”, as Smith’s interception at the end of the game ended the comeback.

Smith finished his day with under 200 yards passing, one touchdown, and one interception. He missed a wide open Travis Kelce for a touchdown in the first half and that would have completely changed the momentum of the game.

Andy Reid won’t bench Smith in favor of Patrick Mahomes, but he needs to consider it. This team isn’t going anywhere (even if they do make the playoffs), so why not see what the team has in Mr. Mahomes?

As long as Kansas City leads the division, there won’t be any quarterback change taking place. That doesn’t mean fans can’t speculate though.
