Another game, another loss for the Kansas City Chiefs, whose 5-0 record to start the year seems like ages ago. They fell 16-10 to the Bills at Arrowhead on Sunday.

After five weeks of the NFL season, Kansas City Chiefs fans were already looking ahead to the playoffs. Now, a month and a half later… Chiefs fans are just hoping the team can hang on and MAKE it to the playoffs.

In their last six games, the Chiefs have gone 1-5 and looked like a shell of themselves in the process. It has not been a fun time for the Chiefs, who have been beaten by lowly teams like the Giants and another slumping team in the Bills.

Now sitting at 6-5, the Chiefs have teams within striking distance in the AFC West. It seemed like the division was all locked up after the Chiefs knocked off the Broncos in week seven, but the AFC West is wide open now.

Let’s take a look at some grades after this loss to the Bills.

F. . . . PLAY CALLING

Once again, play calling was bad. After an electric first five games for the Chiefs, Alex Smith and company have reverted back to dinking and dunking and it’s frustrating to watch.

There were so many third down plays where Smith would just check the ball down and that’s not going to move the chains. There weren’t any stupid trick plays this week like there was with Travis Kelce throwing the football last week, but that’s probably because KC was playing from behind.

Speaking of Kelce, why wasn’t he involved in the offense more? Whenever he got the ball, he made big plays yet he was virtually ignored throughout the game.

I’m not sure where the offensive magic from the first five weeks went, but I miss it… A lot.
