POTENTIAL LANDING SPOTS FOR MOUSTAKAS – NEW YORK YANKEES

When it comes to free agency, the New York Yankees are a contender for pretty much anyone on the market. They have the dough to drop on any player they want and that doesn’t bode well for Royals fans.

The Yankees don’t necessarily NEED a third baseman, as they have Chase Headley. Headley has one year remaining on his contract, but the Yankees also have a good young prospect at third base by the name of Miguel Andujar.

It’s a story that Royals fans know all too well unfortunately.

Nick Cafardo of The Boston Globe linked Moustakas to the Yankees a few weeks ago, citing them as a potential suitor for the third baseman,

"One scout insisted Moustakas would hit 45 homers playing half of his games at Fenway, but the Red Sox don’t have a need for him unless they want Rafael Devers to DH. Plenty of teams need a third baseman, and the Mets, Angels, Yankees, and Giants could be among his suitors."

The biggest thing to take out of that is that the Red Sox might not be in the Mike Moustakas sweepstakes and that’s great news. It’d be rough seeing Moustakas go to the Yankees, but it’s a story that Royals fans know all too well unfortunately.
