Doug Martin hasn’t been as good as fantasy owners had hoped this year and that’s exactly why sitting him this week is the best option. Martin, who had just 38 rushing yards off of 20 carries last week against the Dolphins, has struggled since returning from his suspension earlier this year.
This week the Bucs face the Falcons, who have been surprisingly good at stopping the run. Okay, they struggled with stopping Russell Wilson taking off with the football, but who hasn’t? Were it not for Wilson, the Seahawks running backs would have only had 50 yards rushing.
Wilson is a genius when knowing to run with the football. I wouldn’t give Ryan Fitzpatrick that same kind of praise. That means the Bucs are going to be handing it off to Doug Martin and the Falcons are going to be right there to stop him from doing much of anything.
