REASONS FOR ROYALS FANS TO BE THANKFUL – DAYTON IS STAYING

General manager Dayton Moore played the largest role in getting the Kansas City Royals to two straight World Series. He ensured the fan base to be patient while the club rebuilt and well… He was right.

As the regular season winded down this year, rumors were buzzing around that Moore could be departing for the Braves, an organization where he spent several years before coming to Kansas City. It seemed like a good time for Moore to bolt, as the Royals will be losing a lot of likable players.

No one would have blamed Dayton Moore for leaving, but as of now, he’s staying with the Royals and that’s reason for the fans to be thankful. Without Dayton Moore, this team doesn’t go to back to back World Series.

Moore made the trades for Johnny Cueto and Ben Zobrist that year, two guys who helped propel this franchise to their first title in three decades. Without those trades, the Royals probably don’t make it out of the ALDS against Houston.

While this offseason will be rough, fans should have faith in Dayton Moore to put this franchise on the right path for the future. He did it once before and it turned out pretty well, I’d say.
