Kansas City Royals: Reasons for fans to be thankful in 2017

REASONS FOR ROYALS FANS TO BE THANKFUL – RECENT CHAMPIONSHIP

It might seem like I’m “living in the past” here, but come on. The 2015 World Series was not that long ago and Royals fans have every right to still celebrate it.

Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think the Kansas City Royals would win a World Series before the Chiefs won a Super Bowl.

That World Series title did more than just give the Royals their first championship in 30 years. It united a city and brought everyone together. Kansas City used to be a football town and for a few years, it was a baseball town all the way.

There are some sports franchises that have never experienced seeing their team be world champs or gotten to partake in a championship parade. For that, Royals fans should be thankful because we got to do all of that in 2015.

Royals fans should especially be thankful for this because most of them are also Chiefs fans and we know how that story goes every January. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think the Kansas City Royals would win a World Series before the Chiefs won a Super Bowl, but it happened.

The Royals might not be the reigning champs now, but they’ll always be 2015 World Series champs in Kansas City and that’s pretty cool.
