Kansas City Royals fans have been treated to quite the ride over the last few years. What do they have to be thankful for this holiday season?

In 2013, the Kansas City Royals began the journey of a lifetime for the fan base. The team had its first winning record in a decade and none of us had any idea what was about to happen.

What ensued was the time of our lives (thanks Dirty Dancing) that gave us two World Series appearances and a championship title in 2015. Life was good.

Life is still good for Royals fans, but things are going to change drastically this offseason. Let’s avoid talking any further about that though and get into the reasons why Royals fans should be thankful for their favorite baseball team.

REASONS FOR ROYALS FANS TO BE THANKFUL – SALVY!!!!

For Royals fans, the one constant through everything has been Salvador Perez. Even in disappointing seasons like 2016 and 2017, Perez is always seen with a smile on his face.

In 2015, Perez started a fun tradition for Royals fans and for the team. Whenever the Royals would win, Perez would soak the guest of honor (whoever was talking with Joel Goldberg) with whatever was in the Gatorade bucket.

It became a tradition that Royals fans loved and Perez did it all through 2016 as well. In 2017, he pick and chose when to soak the MVP, but it was still a treat whenever he did splash them.

Perez is the best player on the Royals team and hopefully he stays in Kansas City for years to come.
