REASONS TO BE THANKFUL – THE FUTURE LOOKS BRIGHT
Now let’s not look too far ahead, as we have the 2017 Chiefs, which could very well be the best team in the NFL. However, in order to have a settled franchise, they must have the future lined up to ease the uncertainty throughout.
Simply put, the future is bright in Kansas City. Former general manager John Dorsey had a knack for drafting talent strategically for the team. In the 2017 NFL draft especially, Dorsey drafted for the future, as it is about time to think ahead into a new era.

The Chiefs have an incredibly young wide receiver corps, along with a rookie running back who plays as if he has been in the league for a while, and of course their quarterback of the future in Patrick Mahomes II. In other words, they’re set up to be a successful franchise for a long time.
An aging Alex Smith behind center was becoming an ongoing worry, as the fans started to feel as if they were flat-lining. A change only seemed fitting in a few years, and the Chiefs feel they have found their change.
Insert Mahomes at this point in time. The first round draft pick is working to be a franchise quarterback in a short while, as we speak. No worries about the future is a blessing in disguise, and I think that is something we should all be thankful for.
