POTENTIAL LANDING SPOTS FOR ERIC HOSMER – BOSTON RED SOX

Sadly, this is where I think Eric Hosmer will wind up, in Boston with the Red Sox and crushing doubles off the green monster or whatever that wall is called. Hosmer to Boston makes sense in nearly every aspect.

Hosmer hit 25 home runs while playing 81 games at Kauffman Stadium… Just imagine how many more he could hit in Fenway Park.

For one, they’re interested. Nick Cafardo of The Boston Globe touched on this a few weeks ago, stating,

"Hosmer is starting to look like an ideal fit for the Red Sox. Seven of his 25 homers this year were hit the other way, which bodes well for the lefthanded batter’s ability to hit at Fenway. He’s also a Gold Glove-caliber first baseman. Scott Boras wouldn’t comment on what level of interest he sees the Red Sox having in his client, but he did comment on how rare it is for a player to go into free agency at age 27."

The Red Sox are one of those teams that can basically sign whoever they want. They’re always a competitive team and their ball park is certainly hitter-friendly. Hosmer hit 25 home runs while with the Royals and playing 81 games at Kauffman Stadium… Just imagine how many more he could hit in Fenway Park.

Another reason why I think Hosmer will go to Boston is because his girlfriend resides there. Yes, Kacie McDonnell who once lived in Kansas City is in Boston now, and the two are quite public with their relationship. They’ve been together for awhile now and it makes sense that Hosmer would want to be closer to her.

All season long when it came to thinking ahead to the future of the Kansas City Royals, the team we constantly saw linked with Eric Hosmer was the Boston Red Sox. It makes perfect sense for him to want to go there and Royals fans know this story all too well.
