Running Back: B+

Kareem Hunt took the world by storm early on, quickly becoming a household name. Hunt gave Chiefs fans reason to forget about the departure of Jamaal Charles and healed the pain of Spencer Wares’ season ending injury.

His infamous first carry was a fumble lost on the first drive of the game against New England. The rest was history. Hunt went on to run for 148 yards and a score, as well as catching five passes for 98 yards and two scores. One of those receiving scores was a fantastic catch down field for 78 yards.

Hunt’s best game on the ground came against the Chargers in week three. He ran the ball 17 times for 172 yards and one touchdown. That score was the last time Hunt has been in the end zone so far.

Kareem Hunt has failed to reach the 100 yard plateau on the ground during the last four games. That is a hard mark to make when he only gets nine carries in two of those games.

Hunt is a playmaker, in order to make plays he has to have the opportunities. He has still managed 800 yards on 155 carries as well as four touchdowns. Through the air he has caught 32 passes for 331 yards and two touchdowns.

Hunt’s production has seriously declined in recent weeks, becoming a non factor for Kansas City as teams focus on stopping him. Still, knowing what he’s capable of doing keeps his grade at a high B.
