THE BAD

KeKe Coutee

Before you think I’m picking on an opposing player who absolutelty scorched the K-State defense, hear me out. This works both ways. K-State was bad in covering him. And talent-wise, Coutee is a bad man. Coutee should expect one of the letters that the best opposing players get from Bill Snyder. Coutee had 12 catches for 189 yards and two touchdowns.

This was part of a larger problem as K-State and defensive coordinator Tom Hayes allowed another 400 yard passer. It’s now the third game in a row. I could write Texas Tech and Oklahoma off, but when ku is part of it, well, changes are probably needed.

K-State Rush Offense

I’m not sure where the K-State rush game has gone. It’s a staple. It’s expected that we don’t get the same excitement as the pass-happy Big12 because K-State is going to churn clock and run the ball. But after getting 4.7 yards against ku, K-State did even worse this week with 36 carries for 145 yards. The quarterbacks were the issue this week as Delton had 10 carries for 23 yards and Skylar had six for eight yards. The running backs had 20 carries for 114.
