ROYALS FREE AGENTS THIS WINTER – TREVOR CAHILL

Ha. Remember Trevor Cahill? He pitched for the Kansas City Royals this year and was not good. The Royals obtained him at the trade deadline along with his Padres teammates Ryan Buchter and Brandon Maurer in what was thought to be a damn good trade at the time.

Yeah, needless to say, it didn’t work out, as Cahill struggled. He’d only start three games for the Royals and appear in ten total, which was good for 23 innings of work.

During those 23 innings, Cahill had an ERA of 8.22, a WHIP of 2.348 and gave up 21 runs (ten being homers). He was not quite what the Royals were hoping for when they sent Matt Strahm, one of their top young pitchers, to San Diego in exchange for Cahill’s services.

Cahill will be a free agent and I think it’s safe to say that he has NO CHANCE of being re-signed by the Kansas City Royals.
