Mizzou Football: Good, Bad, Ugly vs Connecticut Huskies
BAD: PENALTIES
Not much to say here other than that the penalties were a problem. The Tigers had 12 flags thrown on them that resulted in 107 yards. This was compared to UConn’s five penalties on the evening.
Mizzou had control of this game pretty much the entire way through, but the penalties have been an issue for this Barry Odom-led squad. They doubled their total from last week and had seven in their close loss to Kentucky earlier this month.
To be honest, there wasn’t a whole lot else to point to when listing the bad from the Mizzou/UConn game, but penalties was where I went here. When trying to get back into the win column, it’s important for players to be disciplined and not drawing flags.
Two of the biggest penalties were on the first two plays of the game that put the Tigers deep into their own territory and that somewhat led to what we’ll be talking about in a bit. Let’s see if the Tigers can cut down on the penalties in their next game.
