Tyreek’s presense slowly returning

Back-tracking to Tyreek Hill‘s rookie season in Kansas City, Hill was used in a more dominant way despite only holding a small role on the offense. From jet-sweeps, to quick slants, Hill showed in 2016-17 that he was perhaps the most exciting playmaker in the NFL.

During the offseason leading up to his second season as a Chief, Hill held expectations to only do the same thing as his rookie season. However, the first few weeks – it was the exact opposite. Well, besides the 75 yard touchdown completion in week one against the Patriots.

Hill was suddenly tuned out, and only had the ball in his hands one to two times within a four game stretch. The only time he was used was on a punt return against the Texans, which of course resulted in a touchdown.

If I were Hill in that stretch of games, I would have gotten annoyed that my speed was not being used wisely. Luckily, Hill was used very well in week six against the Raiders. He was targeted 8 times, and caught 6 of those passes. The completions resulted in 125 yards, and one touchdown.

Hill is the fasted player in the NFL, and I hope the trend continues. There has been maybe one jet sweep with the speedster in motion and this simply is mind-boggling. I hope this is just Andy Reid saving Hill’s talents when they need it the most.
