Kansas Basketball: Malik Newman will be a star for the Jayhawks

A former five-star recruit, and transfer from Mississippi State, Malik Newman has the perfect opportunity to have his breakout season for Kansas basketball this year.
Perhaps the most exciting name of them all for Kansas basketball is the young talent of transfer Malik Newman. Newman is arguably the most explosive player on the roster in Lawrence, Kansas. The young talent can stroke from deep, drive to the bucket, and embarrass his defender with his quick ball-handling.
The electric back-court involving Devonte’ Graham, Svi Mykhailiuk, and LaGerald Vick, creates intriguing guard depth more than capable of exceeding the common expectations in Lawrence.
To add a talent such as Malik Newman to the projected back-court is certainly a gift worth receiving. Kansas is now more than set on guards, even with the missing piece in their bulldog Frank Mason.

As a transfer, Newman had to sit out last season, due to the NCAA transfer eligibility rules. Luckily for Newman’s sake, he was able to practice all of last season, which only gave him a chance to improve his game more and more each day.
