The Kansas City Chiefs are looking to rebound from their first loss of the season. They’ll face off on Thursday Night Football against the hated Oakland Raiders. Here is everything you need to know for this AFC West rivalry game.

We’ve got a big game for Thursday Night Football this week as the Kansas City Chiefs look to rebound from their loss this past weekend. Chiefs fans are notably frustrated at having lost to the Steelers once again. However, this is a great opportunity to wipe that memory away. The Oakland Raiders have not been good this year, and KC has every chance to win.

We all knew that KC wasn’t going to go undefeated this year. Still, it hurts losing a game that could have easily been a win. The Chiefs recent history with the Steelers has been extremely frustrating, and this past weekend was just another chapter in that story.

Having to rebound on a short week isn’t ideal, but getting a chance to beat a rival could help out. While the Chiefs have struggled with the Steelers over the past few years, the same is not true of the Raiders. Kansas City has won five straight against Oakland. They need to continue that streak this week.

The Big Lead

At the start of the 2017 season, I was certain the big lead this week was going to be the return of one of the best rivalries in football. However, while the Kansas City Chiefs have upheld their end of the bargain, the Oakland Raiders have been disappointing. So instead, this week is all about the potential rebound for the Chiefs.

That’s not to say this game will be a pushover. It’s a road game against a division rival, and those are already tough. Doing it on a short week after a tough loss makes it even tougher. However, the Raiders are facing a pretty similar situation after their loss to the Chargers. There is no reason to think that Oakland has any real edge this week.

That’s actually big news for the Chiefs as they have had plenty of success in Oakland in recent years. Kansas City should absolutely be favored this week. Plus, getting a rebound win against the Raiders carries an extra bit of satisfaction.
