The Kansas City Chiefs had a tough task in week five against the Houston Texans at their house. They emerged at 5-0 on the season and remain the best team in the NFL. The Chiefs won the game 42-34.

Every week, I keep saying that the Kansas City Chiefs are due for something to go against them, and for the most part, I’ve been wrong. I predicted them to lose this week because of that logic, and look where that got me. Hey, I’m glad to be wrong and 5-0 is a nice reward for being wrong.

The Houston Texans have become a bit of a rival to the Kansas City Chiefs over the years. The two have squared off ten total times before Sunday’s meeting and eight of those games have taken place in Houston. The Chiefs haven’t hosted the Texans since 2013. Maybe that’ll change in the playoffs this year?

Getting back to this game, don’t let the score fool you. The Chiefs had full control in this game and had they just gotten in the end zone on at least one more drive to start their hot first half (they scored on their first five possessions), this would have been a blowout at half time.

Instead, the Chiefs sat with a 23-7 lead at the half and it’s a good thing they got off to such a good start too, as the Texans started to figure things out offensively. Hats off to Houston, they’re a good football team, but this is hopefully (FINALLY) the Chiefs’ year to go the distance. Oh jeez, I can’t believe I just typed that. What is this feeling?

With a 5-0 start in the books, let’s take a look at the good, the bad, and the ugly from week five’s victory in the Lone Star state!
