K-State football traveled to Austin on Saturday to face-off against the Texas Longhorns. In a game that was pushed to double overtime, Texas prevailed 40-34.

This game is hard to put into words. It had all the emotions as K-State football started off sharp and opened up a 10-0 lead. However, momentum quickly shifted and Texas roared back to a 21-17 half time lead with touchdowns on their last three possessions. After a second half field goal for Texas, K-State scored the next ten points and the teams traded blows until eventually it went to double overtime.

Even Las Vegas was confused, as they opened the game at an over/under of 50. During the ensuing week, it dropped as low as 44 as rumors on the starting quarterbacks for both teams started to circulate about injuries. The spread jumped from as low as three and a half in favor of Texas all the way to seven.

I’m sure Texas and general football fans found the game to be an entertaining back and forth between two teams fighting for supremacy in the middle of the Big12. For K-State fans, this is the third time in a row i will use the word “frustrating” to describe the game.

Like in recent games, some people stood out, for very good and very bad reasons. Because of this, I’ve decided to do a Good, Bad, and Ugly review of the game.
