Number Four – Road Warriors … PLAY ANGRY

We’ve established that the Shockers are great at home, but how has their road record been over the last few years?

Well to say they are elite on the road would be an understatement. Simply put, Wichita State has been the most dominant road team in the country since 2009, according to Team Rankings. Not just top ten, not just top five: Number One. During that time frame their 72-21 record on the road is the best in the country.

This is where the true test of the Shockers will play out during the 17-18 season.

Admittedly, the Missouri Valley has been down for a number of years, lending to the Shockers’ success during those leaner years. The move to the AAC is just what the doctor ordered for this program, and timing could not have been better.

The Shockers are currently enjoying the most successful stretch in the program’s history and after Creighton left the Valley, there just wasn’t enough competition to peak the Shocker’s interest.
