Mizzou Football: Good, Bad, Ugly Vs Kentucky Football
BAD: RUSHING DEFENSE
Kentucky ran rough shot over the Tigers all night long, and it came from both their running backs and their quarterback. Benny Snell Jr. had the best night running the football for Kentucky, putting up 117 yards and two touchdowns off of 20 carries. He annihilated this Tigers run defense.
Quarterback Stephen Johnson had a nice night on the ground too, taking the football 11 times for 44 yards. He’s done a lot of damage with his legs in the past, so holding him to under 50 yards was actually a pretty big accomplishment for a run D that has struggled big time.
Containing Snell would have been great, but it was clear that the Wildcats knew what kind of schemes to run against this MU defense and they worked, time and time again. Hopefully the run defense can work out the kinks, as they’ll face an extremely dangerous Georgia team next weekend.
That one could get very, very ugly.
