SIT ‘EM #1

1. player. 47. Projected Points: 8.4. Running Back. Patriots. Mike Gillislee

The Patriots have a few running backs that can do damage, but this slide kind of applies to all of them, though I’m just going to focus on Mike Gillislee. Gillislee has seemingly been the work horse of the running backs to this point, but he fell flat last week, only getting 49 yards off of 12 carries.

Perhaps the Panthers run defense really is that good, but I don’t like Gillislee as a starting running back for a fantasy team moving forward this season. The Buccaneers held the New York Giants to just 90 yards rushing, which could be a little confusing, as New York hasn’t been able to run the ball well.

Another reason why I don’t like Gillislee is because of the fact that he shares his running back duties with several other guys. Dion Lewis, James White, and Rex Burkhead have all been getting carries out of the New England backfield and that should only continue as the Patriots try to find their best option at the position.

For the record, Gillislee only recorded four fantasy points a week ago against Carolina. I don’t like the chances of him getting many more in this match-up.
