QB. Kansas City Chiefs. ALEX SMITH. A.

What else is there to say about Alex Smith other than that he was awesome?! Whether it’s Patrick Mahomes pushing him or what, I like the Alex Smith that the Chiefs have leading their offense this year.

Through four games this season, Smith has eight touchdown passes and zero interceptions.

Smith went 27 of 37 for 293 yards and two total touchdowns. His passing touchdown went to Travis Kelce in the second quarter and Smith also rushed for a touchdown on a tricky play in the third quarter.

Smith had a few dimes that he threw in this one, including a key first down to Travis Kelce in the first quarter and another crucial first down to Albert Wilson late in the game. Smith also had a ballsy play where he took off running down the sideline and rather than duck out of bounds, kept plowing forward for extra yardage.

Through four games this season, Smith has eight touchdown passes and zero interceptions. He’s looking like one of the best quarterbacks in the league, which none of us predicted after a 15 touchdown campaign in 2016. He’s already halfway to his total from a season ago.

If Smith keeps this type of play up, it’ll be really hard to justify letting him go after this season wraps up. Perhaps Mahomes will have to wait another year.
