K-State football hosted a Baylor team with no wins Saturday afternoon at Bill Snyder Family stadium. In a game that was much closer than it should have been, K-State survived by a score of 33-20.

K-State football needed to get back on the field after the Vanderbilt debacle and change their narrative. I think fans and players alike agreed the bye week came at a terrible time, as it forced the Wildcats to sit with that loss for another week. Thankfully, Baylor

K-State seized the early momentum and scored on a beautiful pass on the fifth official play of the game. Against the second worst defense in the Big12, that should have set the tone. However, K-State was unable to pull away and finish off a team that really had no business keeping the score as close as it was.

This game was going to set the tone for the rest of the year. It would show how well the team would respond to their first loss and help show where they belong the rest of the year.

To help break the down the game and see where K-State is going, I put together a report card.
