Kansas City Chiefs: Five Things To Watch

#4 Chiefs Defensive Front vs. Redskins Deep Backfield

Through three games, the Chiefs rush defense was below par. Week one was a battle with Mike Gillislee, week two was Darren Sproles, and Melvin Ingram of the Chargers was the latest contestant to wreck havoc in the backfield.

Week four will be a competition between the Chiefs developing rush defense, and a slew of Redskins running backs. The Redskins do not have one running back that has carried 95% of the running back play like many NFL teams. Rob Kelley, Chris Thompson, and Samaje Perine will be the trio the Chiefs will face in the backfield.

Each running back is capable of having a productive night against the Chiefs.

Kelley has been out with injuries, but appears to be playing Monday night against Kansas City. Each one of these young backs in 2017 have totaled over 100+ yards. Thompson absolutely shredded the Raiders a week ago, but that was predominantly in the receiving game (six receptions for 150 yards).

Each running back is capable of having a productive night against the Chiefs. With a few technique fixes, the Chiefs will look to contain the deep backfield of the Redskins.
