Kansas City Chiefs Power Rankings

ESPN

Alex Smith: 51.7 Total QBR. Smith is completing a league-best 77 percent of his passes and leads the NFL with three touchdowns on passes thrown 30 or more yards downfield. The Chiefs will need that efficiency and deep passing to continue, as their next seven games are against teams that finished last season above .500.. (3-0). Previous: . Kansas City Chiefs. 2. team. 124

The Kansas City Chiefs are holding steady in the ESPN polls this week. That’s not too surprising, since they were already in the second slot. ESPN has been a bit of an early believer in the Chiefs this year, and are looking pretty smart about it right now.

Taking over the top spot in this poll will be a tough one for the Chiefs. ESPN currently slots the Falcons at #1, and will probably do so until they lose a game. However, being recognized as the best team in the AFC is still getting their due.

What in the world is going on with Alex Smith?! So far this year we have seen an almost entirely different quarterback than what Chiefs fans have been used to. Smith is sitting at, or close to, the top in a lot of stats that you would never expect him to.
